Author Guidelines

The Journal of Integrated Veterinary and One Health (JIVOH) publishes high-quality scientific contributions in veterinary medicine, animal science, and One Health.

All submissions are initially evaluated by the editorial team to determine whether they meet the journal’s scope, formatting requirements, and scientific standards. Manuscripts that do not comply may be returned prior to peer review. Suitable manuscripts will undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Manuscripts must be written in English and must present original, unpublished work that is not under consideration elsewhere.

Submissions should demonstrate scientific rigor, methodological soundness, and relevance to animal health, animal production, public health, or environmental sustainability.

Authors must prepare their manuscripts using the journal’s official template. The use of the template ensures consistency, facilitates peer review, and improves overall manuscript quality.

All authors must approve the final version of the manuscript prior to submission.


ARTICLE TYPES

The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:

• Original Research Articles
• Review Articles
• Case Reports

Each article type follows a specific structure. Authors must refer to the full Author Guidelines document for detailed instructions.


ETHICAL AND TRANSPARENCY REQUIREMENTS

The following statements are mandatory and must be included in all submissions:

• Ethics approval (when applicable)
• Conflict of interest statement
• Funding statement
• Data availability statement
• ORCID iDs for all authors

All applicable ethical standards must be followed.


REFERENCES

The journal adopts the Vancouver referencing style.

Authors are strongly encouraged to prioritize peer-reviewed scientific articles. Other sources may be accepted at the discretion of the editorial team and reviewers.


LANGUAGE

Authors are responsible for ensuring high-quality English. Manuscripts with inadequate language may be rejected prior to peer review.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must comply with the following requirements:

- The submission is original, has not been previously published, and is not under consideration by another journal.

- The manuscript complies with the journal’s Author Guidelines, including structure, formatting, and language requirements.

- The text is written in clear, grammatically correct English.

- All authors have approved the submission and agree to its content.

- Where applicable, the study has been approved by an appropriate ethics committee and complies with institutional and national guidelines.

- All references have been checked for accuracy, completeness, and proper formatting.

- All tables and figures are correctly numbered, labeled, and cited in the text.

- Permission has been obtained to publish any copyrighted material, including images, datasets, or third-party content.

- The manuscript has been prepared with scientific rigor, including appropriate study design, statistical analysis, and interpretation of results.

- The authors agree to the journal’s policies on plagiarism, data integrity, and ethical publication practices.

Original Research Article

This section publishes original research articles presenting novel scientific findings in veterinary medicine, animal science, and related fields within the One Health framework. Submissions must demonstrate methodological rigor, scientific relevance, and contribute to the advancement of animal health, animal production, welfare, and public health. Topics may include, but are not limited to, animal reproduction, epidemiology, zoonotic diseases, food safety, environmental health, and sustainable animal production systems. All manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process.

Review Article

This section publishes comprehensive review articles that synthesize current knowledge in veterinary medicine, animal science, and One Health-related fields. Submissions should provide critical analysis of the literature, identify knowledge gaps, and propose future research directions. Reviews may address topics such as animal health, animal production, epidemiology, zoonotic diseases, food safety, environmental health, and sustainable livestock systems. All manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process.

Case Report

This section publishes well-documented case reports that provide significant clinical or scientific insights in veterinary medicine. Submissions should describe novel, rare, or impactful cases that contribute to improved diagnosis, treatment, management, or understanding of animal health conditions. Reports must demonstrate clear relevance to veterinary practice, animal production systems, or One Health contexts. All manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process.

Letter to the Editor

This section publishes letters that discuss previously published articles or relevant issues in veterinary science and One Health. Submissions should be concise, scientifically grounded, and contribute to academic discussion. Letters may be subject to editorial review or peer review at the discretion of the editors.
